Sometimes it is difficult to come by a Barbera that’s so approachable at a young age. Although I wouldn’t age this wine (drink by end of 2009), it shows complexity. It’s soft but yet has just enough texture for pairing with many different foods. It has an elegant side and a rustic side, which is what I find so fascinating. In the past, Parker has rated this winemaker in the low 90s, so for those keeping score, you are safe. For those looking for a hard-to-find boutique wine…this hits the jackpot!
