2010 Wine Resolutions

Last year, I made a list of goals for 2009. Well, wouldn't you know it, life happened and got in the way of my to-do list. I ended the year with 3 out of the 5 goals completed. This year, I'm lowering the bar a little and choosing ONE WORD as my goal for the year. Something that seems simple but yet often so unattainable: my word for 2010 is "Centered." We all know what this means on a personal, hippy-dippy way, but I am referring to how being centered relates to my wine and food experiences.

I choose “centered” over "balance" because to me it speaks to balanced wine and balanced palate (and mind and body). Here are 4 reasons why you might try “centered” as a goal word:

  • When you are mentally/spiritually centered, your palate will follow suit and wines will reveal themselves in a new and improved light.
  • If you are centered, you will be more open to new flavors and ideas.
  • Softer, more delicate nuances might be more interesting than a big story.
  • You will get new inspirations from wines, foods, the people around them or the place. Inspiration can refill your tank.

So what word would you choose for 2010 as your resolution? Email me at angela@wineunleashed.com and let me know.
