The Wine Wheel®

Over a half a million sold...

The Wine Wheel® is a very handy food and wine pairing tool that fits in a pocket or purse. The orientation of the wheel is such that the different wines are listed along the edge of the wheel and the corresponding foods are located in the center rotating triangle. It not only pairs wines with foods but also imparts useful wine tidbits of information that increases your wine IQ while still entertaining your palate!

Various schools have picked it up as curriculum and is regularly referenced by people in the food and wine trade. Angela is adept in today's modern culinary world and is knowledgeable about wines from around the world. The importance of knowledge in both fields is crucial for The Wine Wheel® is based on generalizations on the terroir of wine and pairs foods with it. For a Sauvignon Blanc from Sancerre (France) tastes different than a Sauvignon Blanc from California (and from a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc).

wheel no. 3

Wheel no. 3 is all about French wine paired with worldly cuisines. If you have problems understanding how the French label their wines this is your ticket to decoding the mystery. Easy to understand and reference.
Picture

wheel no. 4

Wheel no. 4 has not been released yet. This Wheel will be all about Italian and Cal-Ital wines.
Picture

wheel no. 5

Wheel no. 5 was commissioned by the Missouri Grape and Wine Commission and will be released in June 2005. Missouri wines are mostly hybrid wines so this handy tool will be just the ticket when decoding all the unfamiliar names of wines and learning about their nuances.
Picture

wheel no. 6

Wheel no. 6 was commissioned by The Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council. Michigan is similar to Missouri in that they grow a lot of hybrid varietals but they also grow some vinifera. Riesling and Pinot Noir are two that grow extremely well in the cool climate. This wheel is designed differently. The green side features the food pairings and the orange/red side features color, body, qualities and dry/sweet.
